Reviews of this clock: The good and the bad

Ash from the United Staes says:

” Barely 6 months old and it has completely stopped working, contacted customer support for VTECH and they state it’s inoperable and only has a 3-month warranty! Then tells me to use their partners to purchase another…REALLY!!???!?!? ‘

Hanna from the United States says

” WHAT HAVE I DONE, I HAVE TURNED MY KIDS INTO ZOMBIES!!! They love this watch. Its fun, I have had to limit the amount of time they spend on them as they seem to zone the world out while playing on them. Regardless, it packs a lot of little features that kids really find fun. My favorite part and the kids are the fitness games on the watch. The little guys work so hard to achieve their goals. It will count your steps and activity during a game and tell you what kind of animal you are like. “

Nom from the United States says

” My 5-year-old grandson got this for Xmas. He opened the package (by far the hardest operation) and started playing games and taking pictures before everyone else was finished opening. Of course, he’s a gifted child, everyone’s grandchild is gifted so no worries there. I would say the watch is very intuitive for kids so they pick it up very quickly. Fortunately, it came fully charged, and he wore it all day. He took surprisingly good pictures of everyone, and Granny is going to download some to save. Excellent gift.”

Tiffany from the United States says

” We bought this for my 4-year-old boy for Christmas, he didn’t immediately play with it but now he loves it! He loves playing the games on it. He loves recording his voice on it and playing it back to us…lol, he loves making videos and taking pictures. It is like his “iPhone/apple watch” and is age-appropriate. We would definitely buy it again!”

A mom from Minnesota says

” Should be a 5-star review, but poor customer service has killed my opinion of a really cool product. It is even more disappointing when a cool toy breaks and my youngest son has had lots of disappointment in this watch. We have two and one has always worked perfectly. If you are fortunate to get a good one it is a really neat watch!!! My sons love them! Unfortunately the other has had problems with inconsistent unresponsiveness of the touchscreen from the beginning.

However, I was dismissed by VTech during my original call because we could still get it to work after hard resets or letting it sit off all night or because the wind blew in the right direction. Now it won’t respond at all but VTech says it is now outside the warranty period. I feel like this was a tactic. Refused to even offer a discount on a replacement. We should have been offered a replacement at a cost since this has been an ongoing issue since it’s a purchase.”

A mom from the United States says: Gave 3 Stars

” We ordered the Ace 2 for our daughter for the alarm feature. Due to health reasons, she needs reminders. That was easily set up and it has performed wonderfully. However, the band tore after one week of owning. It looks like the band was not made to withstand any play sadly. I tried purchasing less expensive replacement bands and they unhook and do not stay locked in. So now we are forced to purchase a $29 replacement “Fitbit” band in order to use the product. Hopefully next one will be more durable and this just was a defect.”

” Downsides: 1)She’s not allowed to wear it for her swimming lesson for health and safety reasons so she was disappointed with this. 2) She has to take it off for PE in school for health and safety reasons so yet another minus point. 3) Three or four times now she’s woken me up in the night at 3/4/5 am crying and panicking that she’s had ‘no sleep’ because she’s briefly woken in the night and checked her watch and it tells her how much sleep she’s had.. so the watch will now be taken off in the night and just used in the day.”

Shanon Chase from the United States says: Gave 1 Star

” Ya for his birthday BUT just like the other reviews the wrist band is already detaching from the bumper area around the fit bit in less than a week 🙁 and to replace it is $30!!!! I would think with the product this expensive and for children that there would be a better quality wristband on it rather than thin silicone. Very disappointing for my child and myself in my wallet. Considering returning the whole product and just getting my money back.”

” Bought this for my 6yr old daughter. As it’s designed for children, it’s not going to be all singing all dancing in terms of the technology (GPS, Heart-Rate, etc) The watch itself has a kid-friendly look to it and my daughter loves wearing it. She is excited at showing me how many steps she’s taken and really that’s the point to this…Encouraging her to be more active!! Well worth the price, if it means she wants to walk as opposed to getting in the car.”

Mark Daud says: Gave 2 Stars

” It is ok, but I would not recommend it. It has no heart rate monitor on it and only calculates steps. Does not show what the child is genuinely doing. My daughter rides her bike at least 4 miles a day, but the watch does not take that into account. My Fitbit Ionic and other products are by far more advanced, and this is what I believe a child needs. They need a fitness watch that shows what they genuinely do, kids, walk, jump, and cycle every day. I want to know honestly what my daughter’s activities are.”

John from the United Kingdom says: Gave 5 stars

” I am a fan of Fitbit products and used them for years. My son is very active and has tried cheap active watches, but they have never recorded even half of his steps. We bought him this for his 9th birthday and he loves it. You can change the watch face, my son currently has a rocket that flies up in the air as he does more steps. My son now times everything as well with the countdown feature. I’ve also found him randomly walking around the house to get more steps than me!! Which has actually motivated me more!! It is very child friendly and I would recommend it as great value for money.”

Reviews

Gavin from the United States says: Gave 5 Stars

” I originally thought that the US sim card could not be used, and later contacted customer service to re-purchase a dedicated sim card before it could be used normally. The call effect is good, the sound quality is very clear, you can also take pictures and equipped with a memory card. The daughter uses it as an alarm clock in the morning to remind daily plans. It can also be used as a music player with complete functions and acceptable prices.”

Leo from United States says: Gave 5 Stars

” My daughter is going to first grade this year. I decided to give her a gift to celebrate her upcoming freshman year. I chose this smartwatch after a long search on the Internet. This watch looks very delicate. It takes about two days to recharge and it’s about the same as my apple watch. My daughter likes watches very much. She also recommended it to her classmates! I’m glad my daughter likes it!”

Pan from the United States says: Gave 4 Stars

” I like the interface and games on the watch for my daughter. It is cute for her to wear. At the beginning is a little hard to navigate but it is easy to get use to.”

Patten from the United States says: Gave 5 Stars

” I bought this watch for my child. She loves the pink color. The wrist strap is very soft, the wrist is comfortable and easy to adjust. The watch also has many functions, such as games you can play, cameras, play music and connect to the phone. And another important function is the SOS function. If your child is afraid or lost, you can activate this feature to ring your phone and tell you. My child has practiced several times, this is just one step they need to learn. Battery life currently looks pretty good. But the quality of the watch still needs some time to know.”
